During the first week of term we focused all of our learning around ANZAC. We really enjoyed writing about an ANZAC video we watched and lots of interesting war gear that Whaea Rhiannon's brother let us borrow.
I think it's really cool that you remember those who died in the war. We do the same thing with poppies here in England and we call it Remembrance Day. And its also really cool that you got too see real army equipment! Did you get to feel it, was there any blood? Teo Highgate
Wow that is amazing! It is very weird to think that these objects were actually used in the war! Did you know that we in the UK we celebrate remembrance day on the 11th month, on the 11th day, on the eleventh hour? From Nikos 5R

Cool! I found this interesting! In London we do something similar to ANZAC! It is called remembrance day and we do it on the 11th month on the 11th day of the 11th hour and the 11th minute. We have a minutes silence to remember those who have died in the war. By Amaya
That's interesting did you know we (in the UK) celebrate it on the 11th of November on the 11th hour. I am half Australian so we celebrate anzac and we always have anzac biscuits! Amelia
Hi 5R, Thanks for your comments. That's interesting that you celebrate the war in a similar way. All of the army gear has been used in a war (WW1, WW2 and Vietnam). The pictures are of a gas mask, a gear bag and a soldiers kit that included water bottles, storage for food and ammunition, machete that had a awesome carved handle. There wasn't any blood on the items but some smelt very old and left us with dirty hands. - Riley SL and Selene
