ANZAC

During the first week of term we focused all of our learning around ANZAC.
We really enjoyed writing about an ANZAC video we watched and lots of interesting war gear that Whaea Rhiannon's brother let us borrow.

  1. I think it's really cool that you remember those who died in the war. We do the same thing with poppies here in England and we call it Remembrance Day. And its also really cool that you got too see real army equipment! Did you get to feel it, was there any blood?

  2. Wow that is amazing! It is very weird to think that these objects were actually used in the war! Did you know that we in the UK we celebrate remembrance day on the 11th month, on the 11th day, on the eleventh hour? From Nikos 5R

  12. Hi 5R,
Thanks for your comments. That's interesting that you celebrate the war in a similar way.
All of the army gear has been used in a war (WW1, WW2 and Vietnam). The pictures are of a gas mask, a gear bag and a soldiers kit that included water bottles, storage for food and ammunition, machete that had a awesome carved handle.
There wasn't any blood on the items but some smelt very old and left us with dirty hands.
